Poppy Class – Spring Term 2008

Since January we have been very busy. This is our first term in full-time school, so we have been getting used to working hard all day!

We have learnt to recognise a lot of letters and sounds, and how to write them clearly. It is very exciting to be able to read and write words for ourselves!

We all enjoy reading books and listening to stories.

Poppy class are good at counting and adding. We are also learning to read and write numbers.

Our science topic has been all about opposites. We enjoyed finding out about light and dark, up and down, push and pull and shiny and dull. It was fun investigating LOUD and soft with the musical instruments!

Poppy Class have also been learning about Noah’s Ark. We painted our own animals to go into the Ark two-by-two. We even turned our role play corner into an Ark, complete with animal masks. We really enjoyed being the animals!

We use our imaginations to create amazing buildings with lego and blocks. We paint colourful pictures and experience different materials like dough, clay, sand and water.

We go outside every day and there is always something new to try and to learn. Every Friday we go out to The Woods. We play and explore. We can be very adventurous! It is exciting to see signs of Spring appearing, like new leaves and daffodils.

What busy Poppies we are!
