child protection

Faringdon Infant School is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The health, safety and well-being of every child is of paramount concern. We listen to our pupils and take seriously what they tell us.

All staff have a professional duty to take such steps as are reasonable to promote safe practice and to protect children from harm, abuse and exploitation. This means that staff must be alert to possible concerns about every pupil, and to report these in the proper fashion.

On rare occasions our concern about a child may mean that we have to consult other agencies even before we contact you. The procedures which we follow have been laid down by the Oxfordshire Safeguarding Children’s Board and the school has adopted a Safeguarding policy in line with this for the safety of all. If you would more in formation about our procedures or the policy, please speak to the head teacher.
