For all children, sharing books with members of the family at home in the early years helps to foster a lasting, lifelong enjoyment of books. Children choose their books for reading at home in collaboration with the teacher and parents. A diary for comments by parents, teachers and children accompanies the book bag and provides a very valuable exchange of information on the child’s progress.

Reading is the most important homework when your child first starts School. We also send home mathematics activities, spellings and word games for parents/carers to share with their child. These activities are linked to the current maths topic and offer an opportunity to practise acquired skills, concepts or knowledge.
